Cr-Mn steel
The Narex Wood Line Profi Bevel Edge Chisel 810116, chisel, 16 mm has a blade made of Cr-Mn steel, also known as Chrome-Manganese. This carbon steel was developed by Narex itself in the Czech Republic and specially designed for tools that are used intensively. This steel is treated to 59 HRC using a unique hardening process that results in an even steel structure and good sharpness retention. Despite this, it is still surprisingly easy to sharpen yourself! Cr-Mn steel does have some rust resistance due to the addition of chromium and manganese, but it can rust or discolour on contact with moisture. Dry your tools well after use and occasionally rub them with a little oil to prevent rust.
